Setting up two separate websites is not something we’d recommend to the majority of our clients. But when our longtime client, Sitka Point Lodge & Fishing Charters, approached us with a unique scenario for their business, we agreed that it made sense.

Sitka Point Lodge offers vacation packages to those looking to fish the waters Sitka, Alaska. The packages range from 4 to 7-night stays, and include lodging and a dinner prepared by their gourmet chef each evening. Recently, however, a new type of customer needed to be reached; cruise line passengers seeking fishing and wildlife day-trips while docked in Sitka.

We worked with the client to develop a new site catering specifically to these customers, shifting the content and imagery to highlight the single-day experience offered by Sitka Point Excursions. We worked closely with the client to optimize the text for cruise line passengers seeking day trips, and selected photos from past customers that would highlight the sights and catches from these trips.

And it worked! Soon after launching the new site, Sitka Point Excursions was receiving qualified leads from cruise line passengers requesting reservations before setting sail.

If you feel your company could use a companion site to highlight an adjacent service or product, we’d be happy to help you assess the need and develop a cost-effective strategy.
